From the 1st of November, for the first time, bulk billing incentives will be paid to GPs for ever patient they bilk bill in the Bendigo Electorate. Previously these incentives were only available to children under 16 and concession card holders.
The goal is for 9 out of 10 GP visits to be bulk billed b 2030, boosting the number of fully blk billed practices.
Local GP practices, such as Hargreaves St Medical Practice, in the Bendigo Electorate have said they will become gully bilk billing clinics.
As of 27 October 2025, 22 GP practices in the Bendigo Electorate have indicated their intent to become Medicare Bulk Billing Practices, 14 (64%)
Of these are currently mixed billing practices.
Patient and families in Bendigo will save hundreds of dollars a year in out-of-pocket costs.
